Cancer is one of the leading causes of illness and death in Europe. Under the Italian National Agency for new Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development – ENEA, researchers are setting new standards in measuring radiation from treatments with brachytherapy. Brachytherapy is ionizing radiation treatment of cancer where radiaton source is delivered in human body, minimizing a healthy tissue exposure. Pathogen bacteria

They are called good microorganisms because of their antimicrobial activity against other bacteria. The general that belong in probiotic group are lactic acid bacteria and they are all used for lactic acid for their reaction. The probiotic can be used for commercial preparation and pharmacy preparation, such as preparation for yogurt, juices, and etc. Not all of them can be used as lactic bacteria; there is recommendation EFTA  that say what step should be followed, only the one that are safe and that have antimicrobial bacteria against other pathogen bacteria can be used.

From Di.S.T.A (Department Agro environmental Science and Technology) University of Bologna, Cecilia Santini- microbiologist PHD fellowship told us about the other European project in 2006 similar with another project called Pathogen combat using the same protocol. They have put antimicrobial substances against the lactic acid – all pathogen bacteria. The protocol, was very easy because they have worked with a plate in which they put the both elements together, the main goal was for them to see the reaction of the substances, if the first element has activity against the bacteria, more specific if they have killed the pathogenic bacteria.
