A new success for  ReLaTe: another article published!

On the 8th of  July 2010,  Elena Roda’s article on the “Electronic Nose” as been published on the website La Scienza in rete.

Elena had the opportunity to discover this research topic during her training at the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique.

RELATE partners congratulates her and hope that this is an encouraging news for all the other participants as well!

Application campaign is now closed. We thank  all of the applicants for the interest showed in our project. Selected candidates will be informed by the end of September 2010, for the November training session!


A new successful publication by one of  ReLaTe students!

On the 20th of  May 2010, Nataša Šudelija, from Croatia, published her video on the New Science Journalism!

RELATE partners congratulates her and hope that this is an encouraging news for all the other participants as well!

The last RELATE application campaign is now open!

The last application campaign opened on the 1st May 2010 and will remain active until the 30th of June 2010. All interested journalism students are invited to submit a complete application form and a cv.

The screening of applications received will be conducted  in July and August; in September the selected participants will be announced.

If you have already submitted your application for the previous rounds, please don’t apply again; we will still take those into consideration.

Announcement for young researchers:

The ICT 2010 conference will take place in Brussels on 27-29th September 2010. ICT 2010 is organised by the European Commission and hosted by the Belgian Presidency of the European Union. Around 4.500 participants are expected to attend this event. The EC is inviting young researchers working in FP7 ICT projects to attend the conference in Brussels as reporters of the main sessions, exhibition “watchers”, web radio animators and interviewers of the VIPs.

The Marmara Research Centre hosts the workshop

ENERGY RESEARCH GOES MAINSTREAM:
when science journalists meet energy researchers

In this special workshop, energy researchers, journalists and project coordinators presented what they have learned after their week in the labs. It was be an occasion to share views on how to improve the transfer of information between researchers and journalists and in particular with energy researchers. 10 journalists were hosted by the Marmara Research Centre during the entire week, within the framework of RELATE project and 5 of them stayed in the Energy lab.

The workshop took place on the last day of the training week when the journalists concluded their training and were ready to take part in the discussion with the researchers other local journalists and participants. In addition, the workshop was a chance for researchers and for the media attending to discuss how to set up new frameworks for cooperation, with the aim of better connecting relevant EU research to the mainstream and specialised media.
